A Spanish word with no direct translation, sobremesa describes the leisurely tradition of spending time with friends and family long after a meal is done. It’s a chance to converse, laugh, and truly savor the moment.
Inspired by our Spanish familia overseas, who know how to siesta and fiesta like no other, this dinner is designed to help you completely lose track of time. Inspired by warm summer evenings spent in la huerta (a countryside garden of fruit and vegetables grown for the family to enjoy), guests will celebrate a bounty of seasonal ingredients cooked just right and served family-style. Our Sobremesa menu will include saffron paella simmered over an outdoor fire, serrano ham sliced right off the bone, and barrels of fruity sangria to sip on while the sun sets behind the city skyline.
Tie on a bandana roja, swig cerveza from the traditional porron, soak in the sounds of flamenco guitar, and relax as we practice the laid-back tradition of sombremesa. Themed attire encouraged (as always).
